New Downtown Mural & Big Give Gage

2021 means it’s time for more downtown public art in Beatrice!

This year we have teamed up with Sydney Saathoff to create a large mural for Beatrice located close to 5th and Ella Streets downtown.

This year’s project came out of a selection process with several area artists. Sydney’s design won over the committee and she has been busy making it into a reality!

We have received the assistance of the Hevelone Foundation, Lepant Law Office, the Gage County Foundation, Mead Lumber and Main Street Beatrice to make this mural possible.

We invite you to help us continue making Public Art possible in Beatrice!

You can do this by making a donation to Main Street Beatrice.

On September 10th our public art projects are part of the Big Give Gage Event where the public comes together to support the efforts of over 60 non-profits in Gage County. We hope you will select Main Street Beatrice as one of the causes you will support! These donations will go to finish this mural and start future projects!

*NEW* Downtown Revitalization Grant Pre-Application Available

The City of Beatrice is applying for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to create a 2021/2022 Downtown Revitalization Improvement Program. To demonstrate the interest level of this program for a successful application by local business owners, the City is asking interested parties to submit a pre-application no later than September 1, 2021. 

The pre-application is easy to complete. If you have work that needs to be done on your building or you might want to rehabilitate the upper floors of your building this is an opportunity for you! Grant can cover up to 75% / Owner pays at least 25%.

Fill in your information and send it in to the City. This is not a commitment on your part, treat it like a letter of interest. It does not require you to go get bids right now but only to have a project in mind and give the best estimate on possible costs.

Ribfest is set for June 26th! During Homestead Days

Beatrice Farmers Market Is Open!

The 2021 Season started on May 20th and will run through October 14th. Find us at our new location, 318 North 6th Street, the corner of 6th and High Street, Centenary United Methodist Church.

Open Thursday’s 4:00-6:30pm we are your home for all sorts of produce, lots of baked goods from breads to sweets and kolaches, jams, jellies, eggs, crafts, and art.
